Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival Introduction

Fun Fun Theory:   Two films that demonstrate the belief that something as simple as fun is the easiest way to change people's behavior for the better. Be it for yourself, for the environment, or for something entirely different, the only thing that matters is that it's change for the better.

Giants Ascending the Giants :   (our 'local' selection)  You may hug a tree, but would you climb one? Join tree lovers & climbers Brian and Will as they attempt to find Oregon's largest Sitka Spruce trees. Through their eyes, from both ground and canopy views, we discover the breathtaking beauty of these beautiful giants.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWxBSrKOzWs

What What Is That?:   Father and son are sitting on a bench. Suddenly a sparrow lands across them and their story comes full circle.

Mergansers Ride of the Mergansers:  One of the festival favorites.  You'll be entertained, educated, and inspired - and leave with a newfound appreciation of the phrase 'leap of faith.

Flathead1 Flathead Wild:    (our 'wild' selection)"We need strong, credible images to give a voice to places that cannot speak for themselves."  Join the adventure; experience one of the cleanest rivers water, the camera trapping, the wildlife and the breathtaking views. The photographers have 13 days to make iconic images that can be used as tools for conservation and could possibly help to tip the scales in favor of protecting this pristine wilderness. Will they do it?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0WuMOPVruI

Anza  A Year in the Desert:  Anza Borrego:  Each season in the Anza Borrego desert has its special creatures: tiny hummingbirds, darting lizards, slithering snakes, head-butting bighorns. Their land is seared by ground temperatures of 180 degrees, swept by a flash flood, even blanketed by a snowstorm. Yet they not only survive, but thrive.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UjhxGXxQyU
